this documentary has truly opened my eyes about all the environemental issues the world is presently facing. the documentary is based on the novel with the same name, written by al gore, who also stars in the picture. gore does an excellent job presenting the problems + evidence about global warming, whether about carbon dioxide emission comparisons of different countries or polar ice caps that are melting at extremely high rates per year. the documentary has its fair share of humor, testimonials, graphics, and more, all presented by al gore (who, in my opinion, is absolutely brilliant...and should have won the 2000 elections)...but enough about my political preference. i give it 4 1/2 stars (out of 5). reading the book is a must before watching the film...and i'd recommend this to an older audience. the younger crowd (ages 10-13) may not understand the problems fully quite yet (:
